Alma 7-9

To be discussed January 19

1. Read Alma 7:1-13 (with superscription). Where was Alma when he delivered this address? What did Alma perceive about the hearts of the people he addressed? From Alma 7:10-13, list what Alma taught the people about Christ.

2. Read Alma 7:14-27. What did Alma invite his listeners to do? From Alma 7:22-24, why did Alma say these things to the people?

3. Read Alma 8:1-13. How was Alma's message received in Melek? Where did he go to teach after Melek? What was the condition of the hearts of the people he taught there?

4. Read Alma 8:14-32. Who was the angel who visited Alma in his state of anguish? What was his message? Why was it so important?

BONUS: From this brief passage, what do we know about Amulek?

5. Read Alma 9:1-11 (with superscription). How did the people react to Alma's message? Of what did Alma remind them?

6. Read Alma 9:12-23. List Alma's warnings to the people in Alma 9:12-15. List advantages the Nephites had from Alma 9:19-23.

7. Read Alma 9:24-34. What did Alma teach regarding the coming of Christ to the Americas? How was his preaching received?
