1. Read 3 Nephi 7:1-13.

How did the Nephites destroy their own government? Why did iniquity come upon the people (3 Nephi 7:5)? Who was Jacob? Where did he lead his people, and why?

2. Read 3 Nephi 7:14-26.

What was the spiritual state of the majority of Nephites in the 31st year after the signs of Christ's birth? Why were the people angry with Nephi? What made Nephi successful in spite of his opposition?

3. Read 3 Nephi 8:1-18.

What happened to the city of Zarahemla during the great storm in the beginning of the 34th year? Where did the greatest destruction take place? List the natural disasters that took place in the Americas.

4. Read 3 Nephi 8:19-25.

How long did the storm and other natural disasters last? How long did the thick darkness envelop the land? Why did the people howl?

5. Read 3 Nephi 9:1-11.

From 3 Nephi 9:1-5, give three reasons why the Lord allowed such great destruction to come upon the people. From 3 Nephi 9:10-11, give another reason for the destruction.

6. Read 3 Nephi 9:12-22.

Why were certain people allowed to live through the destruction? From 3 Nephi 9:14-22, what did the Savior ask the survivors to do?

7. Read 3 Nephi 10:1-19.

How did the voice of Christ remind the people who they were? What did the Savior promise those who would repent?

BONUS:

After the storm and the mourning came joy. Why did the people turn to praise and thanksgiving?
