1. Read 3 Nephi 4:1-10.
What was included in the defensive strategy of the Nephites? What character flaw in the robber gang made this strategy especially effective? How might we employ this Nephite strategy spiritually?

Review the headnote to 3 Nephi 3, also look at 3 Nephi 3:1, 18. Who was Giddianhi? Who was Lachonius? Who was Gidgiddoni?
2. Read 3 Nephi 4:11-20.
Who was Zemnarihah? What was his battle strategy? Why didn't it work?
3. Read 3 Nephi 4:21-33.
Why were the Nephites successful? From 3 Nephi 4:29-30, what phrases indicate the Nephites recognized their covenant status with the Lord?
4. Read 3 Nephi 5:1-12.
From 3 Nephi 5:1-2, what did the Nephites KNOW? THEREFORE - what? What did Mormon want his readers to know?
5. Read 3 Nephi 5:13-26.
Why did Mormon make a record of the history of his people? From 3 Nephi 5:20-26, list elements of Mormon's testimony.
6. Read 3 Nephi 6:1-16.
Review 3 Nephi 5:6-7 with 3 Nephi 6:10-13. How many years of peace and prosperity did the Nephites enjoy? How did it end?
7. Read 3 Nephi 6:17-30.
Did the people sin ignorantly? How did the Lord remind His people of their covenants? How did the chief judges and lawyers react to these reminders?
