1. Read 3 Nephi 1:1-11.

Why might some Nephites have sought to discredit the prophecies of Samuel the Lamanite? What did the believers do? What did Nephi do?

2. Read 3 Nephi 1:12-18.

Unto whom did the Savior say He would come? Why? Since Christ was born in Bethlehem, how did the Nephites know of His birth? How did the wicked react to the signs?

3. Read 3 Nephi 1:19-30.

What did Satan do to cause the people to doubt what they had seen with their own eyes? Would the Gadianton robbers have been able to see the signs of Christ's birth?

4. Read 3 Nephi 2:1-8.

How did the adversary use cynicism to cause mind blindness? What effect did the blindness and hardening of the peoples' hearts cause?

5. Read 3 Nephi 2:9-19.

Why did the more righteous Nephites and Lamanites need to take up arms against the band of Gadianton? What was the cause of so much contention?

From 3 Nephi 3:12-21, list methods we might use to fight adversity. How did Lachoneus prepare his people?
