Introduction and Overview - September 11, 2014
Can we really cover the history of Israel from Adam's covenants with God in the Garden of Eden to the current climate in the state of Israel today, dealing with hostile forces all around? No. But we can look at the history of God's covenant people through the ages, in order to better understand what promises we might claim through worthiness and hope in Christ as people of the covenant today. We will begin in the beginning, travel through the pages of the Old Testament, and finish by rehearsing the history of modern Israel. For a complete class schedule, please click on the link above. There will probably be changes as we encounter unanticipated scheduling bumps and as new information becomes available, but the Class Schedule will give you a good idea of what to expect.
Peruse this class website to find study guides, articles relating to our subject matter, quotes, videos, art, and more detail on the History of Israel, the Abrahamic Covenant, The Twelve Tribes, and what it means to be "Segulla," a peculiar treasure to the Lord.
If you would like some reading to prepare for our first class, take a look at an excellent article by Tad R. Callister, given as a Campus Education Week Devotional in 2012: "Our Identity and Our Destiny."
