390-1517 AD: Byzantines, Arabs, Crusaders

During the "Dark Ages" of apostasy after the death of Christ's apostles, Jews were scattered, homeless. Christianity spread, but without the blessings of revelation and the authority to pass covenants to new generations. During the time period from 390-1517 AD, God's covenant people were adrift in a world without rudder or direction. As we study some of the major movements during this time period, perhaps we can see more clearly how personal apostasy can become established, the damage it will cause, and how to avoid deceptions in a world with many voices. We will discuss the Byzantine Empire; the Arab Dynasty and beginnings of Islam; and the period of the Crusaders. Below are links to articles discussing this time period and/or the lessons of apostasy and need for the Restoration.
