1. Look at Matthew 25:1-13. What parable precedes the parable of the talents? Now skim through Matthew 25:31-33. What time frame is indicated in the verses directly following the parable of the talents? 

 

 

2. Read Matthew 25:14-15. To what is the kingdom of heaven compared in the parable of the talents? Why did the man give different amounts to his three servants?

 

 

3. Read Matthew 25:16-18. What percentage of increase did the first two servants earn?What might have been required of them to make this kind of profit? What did the third servant do with his one talent?

 

 

4. Read Matthew 25:19-23. How long was the lord absent? When the lord of the servants returned, what did he request from each of his servants? What was his response to the first two servants?

 

 

5. Read Matthew 25:24-25. What were the third servant's excuses for not multiplying his allotted stewardship?

 

 

6. Read Matthew 25:26-30. What was the lord's response to the third servant? What happened to the third servant's talent? Where did he end up?

 

 

7. How can we be better prepared for the Savior's return in His glory?
